Beckett's Turn

If you consider 'Knockdown' to be the episode where Richard Castle finally admits to himself his feelings for Kate Beckett, then this weeks 'To Love and Die in L.A.' is Kate's turn.

Kate's training officer is killed and the trail leads to LA where Kate has no jurisdiction and has been ordered not to go. She jumps on a plane and gets stuck in cattle class, squished between two before she is upgraded to First Class... Castle is sitting there waiting, because he wants to be where she is, he wants to be there to protect her and to help her.

The inconvenience of staying an hour away from Castle, means Beckett takes the spare room of his hotel suite. Which leads to some interesting interactions. The big on has Castle stating:
"You know what I thought when I first met you? That you were a mystery I was never going to solve. Even now, after spending all this time with you, I'm still amazed at the depths of your strength, your heart... and your hotness."

The way in which he delivered this line was with such intensity and honesty you just wanted to yell at him and get him to tell her how he truly feels. Instead Kate heads off to bed, alone, before considering asking Castle to join her... Or did she? Castle, being a gentleman heads to his own room.

We haven't really seen this side of Kate, where she was starting to show her emotions and admit them to herself. I mean, she still has the hot doctor boyfriend (who is never there, I might add) and it doesn't seem like she's ready to end that... The real kicker for this episode isn't until the very end, where we find out what the rest of Kate's training officers letter said...
"It's clear that you and Castle have something real and you're fighting it. But trust me, putting the job ahead of your heart is a mistake, risking our hearts is why we're alive. The last thing you want to do is look back on your life and wonder... If only."

Another great ending to another touching and memorable episode...

I know I have been focusing on Castle a lot at the moment, but I haven't had time to watch any other new eps and this one got to me...

Update on Future Events

I'm kind of stressing a little...

I am due to go on a two week driving holiday in 3 days and I am a little concerned. Not only because it's the back end of the term and I have major assignments due the week I get back and those immediately following, but also because May Sweeps start in 6 days!

Ok, for those who arn't as obsessed as I am, May Sweeps are the TV shows final episodes for that season and sometimes for ever. Some shows are still under a cloud on whether or not they will get renewed for a new season. This is there time to throw out the big moves and they don't just leave it to the season finally, but those immediately preluding it.

Anyway, back to my dilemna. Next week is the first week of Sweeps which means i'm going to miss a lot of important TV. Ok, important may be stretching it, but crucial, entertaining, life altering... Ok again, life altering may be stretching it. But you never know, they could pull out a NCIS "Truth or Consequences". For those who missed it, it's where Tony and McGee deliberately get captured and beaten on the off chance that Ziva is alive and they can find her. Brilliant episode!

Shonda Rhimes has guarenteed no masacre this time, but what about the other shows? Michael Ausiello has created his May Sweeps Scorecard which suggests at least two NCIS fatalities! Castle has one too!

So here I am, going on a much needed holiday that coincides with a girlfriends wedding, right in the middle of the most important part of the year! Spoilers are great but nothing beats the real thing... Looks like I will be cocooning myself once the semester is over so I can catch up.

Oh and for those who are interested, Michael Ausiello also keeps a Renewel Scorecard too.

Quick Look Back - Castle

Since starting this blog I haven't been able to start thinking about episode 13 of Castle's third season entitled "Knockdown". This was such a huge development for Castle's character because he finally admitted how he feels towards Kate Beckett. It wasn't anything as simple as I love You. It was during a conversation with his mother after a shooting, a shooting where a retired cop is murdered in front of Castle.

One of my favourite clips of Castle happens between Martha and Castle after this murder.  We have never really seen this side of Martha, she's always been the kooky mother that loves to act and sees everything as an opportunity.  But this scene showed her as a mother, not an actress, a mother.

"It's not about the books anymore" - I just love the simplicity of that line. This whole episode shows the great dynamic of the Beckett/Castle relationship.
Kate herself shows Castle a bit more of herself when she shows him her window of evidence in her mothers case. She tells him that she started whilst he was in the Hamptons, with his ex wife, getting back together. Not even her boyfriend knows about her side investigation.

The fights, the tears, the caring and the jokes, it's a great relationship that we all love to watch. And the final scenes of Castle putting himself in danger to save Kate, beautiful. The episode has the big kiss, but no declaration of love. It is full of the reasons we love Beckett and Castle.

Introduction to My Passion

Welcome to what I call my passion and what my husband calls the bane of his existence. I love my television shows and I am one of the many people who get wrapped up in the lives of the fictional characters on screen.

I have a handful of shows that I am addicted to. These are the shows that I cannot live without and when they are on a weekly hiatus I cannot function properly. Ok, I'm not that bad, but I like my routine and I like being able to sit back and enjoy 42 minutes of television that can make me smile, laugh, cry and scream.

A big part of the shows that hook me are the relationships within them. I'm the type of person that sees the dynamic between characters as the turning point in a show. It can make it or break it. Without that chemistry, even non romantic, I can't get hooked, I can't get involved in the lives of these characters.

So, this blog is dedicated to my obsessions and the relationships that create them.  A few of my favourites are Castle and Beckett (Castle), Bones and Booth (Bones), Chuck and Sarah (Chuck), Tony and Ziva (NCIS) and Angela and Hodgins (Bones). There are more that I love, but these are the ones that get to me week in and week out.

I have included some of my favourite fan vids, made by people far more talented than me, in my YouTube channel. Hopefully I can get this connected shortly.

So, hopefully I have something worth reading about. I definately like talking about and as my husband is not into television, I can't talk to him, so I'm putting it out there and talking to you!
